Obituary of Caroline O. Ringland

Caroline O. "Carrie" (Beardsley) Ringland, age 95, a lifelong resident of Geneseo, died Friday, July 31, 2020 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Beardsley in 1968, parents, Wilbur and Violetta Ringland in 1964, sisters, Pearl Stevens and Thelma Rossborough. She is survived by several cousins and many dear friends. Caroline was born January 18, 1925 in Geneseo, NY the daughter of Wilbur and Violetta Wobensmith Ringland. Carrie worked on Main St. in Geneseo for the Red and White Store as a clerk and then the Livingston Republican Newspaper as a photographer and typist. She retired in 1987 from the Livingston County Department of Social Services in Mt. Morris. Carrie was a member of the 1941 Historical Aircraft Group, the Genesee Hunt Club and the Geneseo United Methodist Church. Carrie was known in Livingston County for her photography. She would come to the beginning of the meets for Genesee Valley hunt and take photographs of everyone on horseback and others that had come to see riders and hounds off to hunt. Carrie could be seen with her camera in hand at all the local horse events put on by Genesee Valley Riding Club, Genesee Valley Hunt and Pony Club; taking photos of riders and their horses, in competition, walking down Main Street on opening day of formal hunting, and in sweet moments either waiting for their ride turn or after finishing. Kids in the valley at the event gatherings and at other times would love to see Carrie with her camera in hand, offering or asking for their picture to be taken. Carrie will be missed by the horse community in the Genesee Valley that was her home. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020 at 2 PM at Temple Hill Cemetery in Geneseo with Lucille Kane officiating.
