Patience S. "Pat" McFarland, age 91, of Geneseo, died Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Morgan Estates in Geneseo, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Julian McFarland Jr. and brother, John W. Simpers Jr. She is survived by her 5 sons, Andrew of Dansville, Edward (Michele) of Baltimore, MD, Paul (Judit) of Oxford, England, Douglas (Kim) of York, Stephen of Macon, GA, 12 grandchildren, Caitlin, Ian, Julianne, Lily, Isabel, Matthew, Sachi, Luxie, Sarah, Matthew, Natalie and Owen, brother in law, George (Sue) McFarland of Davidson, NC, and many nieces and nephews. Pat was born July 25, 1928 in New Castle, DE the daughter of John William and Gertrude Hyatt Payne Simpers. She was a graduate of Conrad High in Wilmington, DE. Pat earned her bachelor's Degree and met her beloved husband of 65 years, Julian, at Drexel University in Philadelphia. She was an active member of the Central Presbyterian Church in Geneseo for many years. Pat taught piano lessons from the family home and was the organist at the Geneseo United Methodist Church. She loved to play golf at Livingston Country Club in Geneseo and was an active tennis player. Pat was a member of the sewing and quilting club in Geneseo as well as the Young at Heart group. She traveled enthusiastically throughout the United States and Europe with her husband, Julian. Pat enjoyed spending quality time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Morgan Estates for taking such great care of our loved ones. No prior calling hours. Pat's Memorial Services will be held at the Central Presbyterian Church in Geneseo with Rev. Dr. Nancy Lowmaster officiating at a date to be announced. A reception will follow Pat's Memorial Service in the church social hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Central Presbyterian Church, 31 Center St., Geneseo, NY 14454.
