Obituary of Ernest F. Harris

Ernest F. Harris, age 80, of Cuylerville Rd. in Cuylerville, died Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was predeceased by his son, Danny Hart, sister, Florence Helinlein, brothers, Leon "Hezzie" and Donald Harris. He is survived by his fiancé, Sue Beachel of Leicester, daughter, Debbie (Jack) McAnany of Leicester, grandchildren, Joseph, Brianna, CasSandra and Tanner Rawleigh, Erica Brady and Joshua Hart, 3 great grandchildren, sister, Alice Parker of Geneseo, brothers, Harold "Pidge" Harris of Geneseo, Neil "Monk" (Marge) Harris of Wadsworth, sisters in law, Rachel Thayer of Pittsford, Shirley Harris of Retsof, many nieces and nephews. Ernie was born April 30, 1935 in Warsaw, NY the son of Neil and Ruth Nichols Harris. He owned and operated Harris Service, Inc. in Geneseo for over 50 years. Ernie was a long time member of the Cuylerville Fire Department and the Route 36 Motorcycle Club. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the many trips to area casinos. Ernie was a kind, loving and very generous man that enjoyed meeting and making new friends. Friends may call Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 4-8 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 10 AM at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 175 Main St. in Leicester with Father Edward Dillon officiating. Burial will be in Leicester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cuylerville Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 247, Leicester, NY 14481.
