Obituary of Lawrence R. Turner

Lawrence R. "Larry" Turner, 82, of Groveland Hill Rd. in Groveland, died Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He is survived by his wife Sarah Toland Turner, his children, Dennis (Lorrie Jo) Turner of Avon, Rob (Grace) Turner of Fowlerville, Karen (Rich) Bertrand of Penfield, grandchildren, Jonathan, Emily (Patrick), Matthew, Justin, Casey, and James, brother, Jack (Sherron) Turner of Groveland, many nieces and nephews. He was born May 22, 1930 in Mt. Morris, NY the son of Lawrence E. and Dorothy Graham Turner. Larry was retired from Elf Atochem in Piffard, formerly Lucidol. He served the Town of Groveland as Historian for many years. Larry was a member of the Livingston County Historical Society and the 1941 Historical Aircraft Group, both located in Geneseo. He was proud to have been a lifelong Groveland farmer. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 4-8 PM. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 10 AM at the Groveland Federated Parish, 6616 Groveland Hill Rd., with Pastor Dorothy Hotchkiss officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Groveland. Memorials may be made to the Geneseo Ambulance Fund, P.O.
