I just read The Genesse Diary. Brother Henry had made an impression on the author with his love and patience as he followed the rythem of the bees.

As a former member of the Abbey of the Genesee, it was on duty each Monday morning to help Br.
Henry in the kitchen. While silent was to me maintain Br. Henry always had a story, plus you knew it was Monday as he cooked the some meal each week.
He was a man of deep faith and kind soul. Deus tecum

I am a frequent visitor at the Abbey. I always remember when I attended Sunday Mass there, that the at the exchange of peace, Br. Henry would always come to the front of the rail and shake my hand with a smile.
May he rest in God's peace!

I met Br. Henry nine years ago when I was on a retreat at the Abbey. My youngest daughter, Julie, had died the year before, and I needed a quiet setting in which to rethink my faith. Since I ordered Monk's bread from Br. Henry (I live in Pittsburgh), I figured this was an opportunity to see him, and he was kind enough to meet with me. He wrote a prayer for my daughter that I recite every time at her grave. God bless you, Br. Henry.

Br. Henry was a gem. I remember working with him in the bakery and whatching him fish..with permission..in the pond. Now..another intercessor in heaven for us still in the battle. Loved him and all the brothers dearly. Br. Henry pray for me! I offer my prayers for his relative family and for his monastic family. May we all find peace and true joy in His Love..Amen!

My wife Sandra and I offer our sincere condolences to all your family. I wish that I would have kept in touch with you so that I would have had memories of Roman
It has been many years since I have been in touch with any of my Hufnagel relatives, which is purely my own doing, and which I regret. My sister Linda Rooney/Costello/ Wronski)Gilson contacted me when she saw Roman's obituary in the Lockport paper.
If John&Mary Rose would be willing to meet with me, I would like to reestablish contact with the Hufnagel family. Sandie and I have lived in the Buffalo area since the early 60's. I plan on calling John and Mary Rose at 439-8981. If that is not the correct number, perhaps they would be willing to contact me.Our address is 646 Lynbrook Avenue,Tonawanda NY 14150/phone 836-0021.
Sincerely,
Sandie and Dick Rooney
