Obituary of Francis G. Alianell

Francis G. "Shine" Alianell, 83, of Piffard Circle East in Piffard, NY, died Monday, June 8, 2009 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY. He is survived by his children, Patricia (John) Clark of Piffard, Michael (Linda) Alianell of Dallas, TX, Mary Simonds of Leicester, Ellen Deahl of Dallas, TX, Dr. Theresa Alianell of Mt. Morris, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, brother, Jack Alianell of FL, several nieces, nephews, and many special friends including Karen Uhl, Judie Schild and Vicky Parsons. He was preceded in death by his wife Sue Alianell in 2007. He was born July 30, 1925 in Rochester, NY the son of Francis and Mary Agnes McGuire Alianell. He was a graduate of York Central School, received his Bachelor's Degree from Syracue University and his Master's Degree from SUNY Geneseo. Shine was a retired teacher from Mt. Morris Central School. He was a member of the Genesee Valley Retired Teacher's Association. He served in the US Navy during World War II and was a member of York VFW Post 634 and Geneseo American Legion Post 271. He was a member of St. Lucy's Church in Retsof. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM where Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 11:00 A.M.with Deacon George Spezzano officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo with Military Honors. Memorials may be made to the Teresa House, 21 Highland Rd., Geneseo, NY, 14454.
