Obituary of John J. Maniscalco

John J. "Johnny Kelly" Maniscalco Sr. age 93, of Court St. in Geneseo passed away February 26, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his wife, Laura June in 1997. He is survived by his children, June Stevens of Nunda, Fay (Tom) Wilson of Pike, Louise (Dennis) Dutton of Tavares, FL, Shirley (James) Ellis of Dansville, Tim Sick of Buffalo, John Maniscalco Jr., Rosemary (Michael) Hoey of Loon Lake, Charles (Krista) Maniscalco of Batavia, an abundance of cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister, Frances Mifsud, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend Rose. John was born April 3, 1921 in Geneseo, NY the son of Vincenzo and Bastiana Muscarella Maniscalco. He was a veteran of World War II, driving truck in the Red-Ball express, was in the Landing of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. John was part of the Civilian Conservation Corps at Letchworth State Park. He worked throughout his life at Massey Ferguson, Pavilion Gas and retired from RG&E. John also had the first pizza parlor in Geneseo, owned a small grocery store on Court St. and ran a plumbing and heating business. He was also a member of the 1941 Historical Aircraft Group in Geneseo. His sense of humor and love for his family and friends will be missed by all. The family would like to extend their appreciation to all of John's caregivers. Friends may call on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 1-4 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo where Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 2, 2015 at 10 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo. Memorials may be made to the Livingston County Hospice Fund, 2 Murray Hill Dr., Mt.
