Our sympathy and condolences to all the family. May you find joy in the memories of the long time you were able to spend with him. He always seemed very happy doing what he did, and being able to do it for as long as he did.

My sincere condolences to Joe’s family. My late husband worked closely with Joe at Temple Hill Cemetery. Joe was also our snowplow man for many years. His presence in the valley will be greatly missed. Rest in peace.

Sorry for your loss. 103, damn Joe, we should all live that long. And how much dirt, asphalt, rock, and equipment did he move in his life time.

I have known Joe for 50 years. He was always a good friend and helped me with many mechanical and contracting ventures. If you needed work done, a truck, or materials, all you needed to do was toask. He was an easy going, hard working man. In some respects, he was like a mentor/father to me. Our thoughts are with your family. Walt Krueger

Linda & Family,
I am so glad that the two of us went to visit your dad Feb 25th. Who knew it would be that very night you would lose him. You know Joe is at peace now and not experiencing that pain anymore which should be some comfort to you. I want you to know you can count on me for support and friendship thru this difficult time.

To the Montemarano family, please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of a great man, Joe Montemarano. We hadn't seen Joe in a couple of years but the last time I saw him, I asked him when he was going to finally rest and retire and he told me (as he had dozens of times over the years), probably when I am no longer here. Well Joe, you will be sorely missed around the area but all we can finally say is, Happy Retirement Joe, your work is done here !!!! You get to go be with family that you have been separated from for years while you wait to be reunited with all of those you have left behind. Almost 104 years old and a life well lived. RIP Backhoe Joe.

To my cousins, Joe, Linda and Lorraine
It saddens me to hear of Uncle Joe's passing.
To me he was a quiet hard working guy.with the most famous nickname in Livingston County-Backhoe Joe!
I remember evenings at the Avon Downs and Sundays on Court Street.
I am thankful for his service during WWII, he was the greatest generation.
Another fact that people should know ...he is the only guy to eat the entire apple. Perhaps that contributed to his 103 plus years.
RIP Uncle Joe, your work on earth is now complete.
Your nephew,
Tim
