When I moved to Groveland Bill was one of the first people I met.
It was the middle of winter & my furnace stopped working around 6am one day. I had Bills card from the town office. I called to ask if he knew anyone that could look at my furnace ? Bill said he would be at my house in a few minutes. He shows up at my house in his coveralls, with tools in hand & introduced himself. He asked me where is the furnace, he fixed the furnace in a few minutes. I asked him how much do I owe ? I remember very distinctly he said , a bill ?,this is what neighbors do , glad to have you living in our town.
I didn’t find out until a month later how much of a prominent figure he was in Groveland.
I would run into him at different events, campaigns & at the town hall. Always had a smile on his face & never forgot my name.
Bill will be missed by everyone’s life he touched.
My prayers are with you Bill, your next journey has just begun.
Proud to have known you my friend.
Ken Adams.

Although Cathy and I only met Bill twice when he was at our home estimating a future job for us, he impressed us as an honest, positive, and friendly individual who we didn't doubt was a man filled with connections to friends and family. If there was ever a "salt of the earth" kind of guy, we don't doubt he was the definition of that specific type of man. Our condolences to the Carman family.
