Joe was always a "gloom buster" - always seemed to be in a good mood. Even when the financial picture was dark, Joe maintained a positive can-do attitude. I have happy memories of long chats at the end of the day. A Christian gentleman and dedicated public servant, Joe has left a legacy of high expectations for those of us who were blessed to have known him.

We will always remember him and his genuine smile and handshake at St Mary's (decades of smiles). Great neighbor, and one of the people that make Geneseo the place we all love and call our home.

My condolences to the Griffo family on your loss, especially to Amie Alden, who I just learned was his daughter. When I first started my job with the County, Joe was the County Treasurer. He always had a smile and I enjoyed chatting with him after he retired.

Extending my deepest sympathy to Joe's family. I remember years ago my mother, Gloria (Samara) Abbott worked for Joe at the courthouse. Whenever I saw Joe throughout the years it was always with a big smile and hello. Geneseo surely will miss him very, very much! He will be remember as a very kind, giving man. Rest In Peace Joe. Thank you for all that you did for others.

Joe was a good neighbor and friend to my parents. After my dad passed, he always checked on my mom. And after mom passed, He attended her calling hours, just like he did for dad.
A sweet man who will be missed. My condolences to the entire family. I'm sure Heaven is having a heck of a party.

My condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Griffo Family. Joe was one of the great people you meet in your lifetime and I feel sorry for the people that never got a chance to meet and know him.
I have many fond memories of playing golf with Joe along with many conversations while I was employed at the Livingston Country Club.

I am sincerely sorry to hear of Mr. Griffo's passing. He was a good friend to my father. They had a lot in common with god29bElf. I'd watch him take his daily walks around the apartment complex where my parents lived and always waved.
Nice man, always had time to talk. He will be missed by many.
Respectfully Norma Johnston Fuller
