Obituary of Sally B. Moses

Sally Bishop Moses, aged 97, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, July 18, 2020 at Morgan Estates. She was born the middle child of John A. and Dorothy Van Tyne Bishop of Geneseo, New York. Sally attended high school at Geneseo and the St Agnes School in Albany, NY and went on to Stephens College in Missouri for a degree in Art and finally to William Smith College in Geneva, NY. Her biggest dream was becoming a female pilot for the war effort and took flying lessons in Rochester. Sally is predeceased by her husband David G. Moses, son Peter R. Moses, brothers John W. Bishop and Thomas W. Bishop, and sister-in-law, Patricia F. Bishop. She is survived by her sons, John (Janis) Moses of Fayetteville, NY, James (Kathy) Moses of Bergen, NY, grandchildren Jennifer (Robert) Pierce, Adam (Corissa) Moses, great grandchildren Katie and Justin Pierce, Kailyn and Brendon Moses and many nieces and nephews across the country. An accomplished artist in all mediums, Sally was a founding member of the Henrietta Art Club, Plein Air Painters of Western NY and a cofounder of the Livingston Art Group in Lakeville, NY. Her work was featured in art shows in Geneseo and Rochester, NY and Indian Rocks Beach, FL. In addition, she was active in the Geneseo Garden Club and A.P.O.G. She loved living on Conesus Lake and took her final sail at age 92, taking her sunfish into a little south breeze. Sally was a warm and loving person and an inspiration to her family and many friends. She will be missed by everyone. The family would like to extend their appreciation to all the kind people at Morgan Estates for their help and loving care over the last few years. And a special thanks to her dear friend and caregiver, Mollie Steele. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
