I was last privileged to speak to Fr. John Eudes in March of last year. I had just finished reading his book on Thomas Merton and shared with him how much I enjoyed it. “Contemplation, Love, Transformation - is that the message Father?” I asked. “I think you’ve got it” he replied. What a kind response. I don’t know if I’ve got “it” or not, but I know he did. Sincere condolences to the Bamberger and Gennessee Abbey Families. What a gift he was to all of us! Now resting with the other Saints!

Our sincere condolences to Father John's family, and his Monastery family at the Abbey.
He was the Abbott when we first started taking our family there almost 30 years ago. I remember one day after Mass, outside the windows of the long hall, we saw Fr. John hurdle the fence to get out to the parking lot to visit with someone. As he was an older gentleman, I was so surprised at his flexibility., especially with is long robes on.... I saw him later as we were all headed back for Sext, and told him how impressed I was with his "jump" He said "well, I used to be in track" very matter of factly, like it was just yesterday. He had a good sense of humor!
He was always so very kind to our family, and answered so many of my unanswered questions after our son Joe passed away. Rest in Peace our dear friend in Christ. Reap all of your heavenly love!
Sincerely,
Charlotte Banish and the entire Banish family
