Obituary of James E. Lyness

James E. "Leroy" Lyness, age 67, of York, died Monday, December 2, 2019 at his residence. He was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Irene Lyness, brother, Richard Lyness Jr., brother in law, Lawrence Taft and nephew, Brian Harcleroad.

He is survived by his wife, René Tilly Lyness, children, Steven (Peg) Lyness of York, Carolyn (Jon) Barratt of Leicester, grandchildren, Justin Kelly, Steven, Brittany and Will Lyness, Andrew and Matthew Barratt, sisters, Ruth Ann (Dave) Pike of West Sparta, Cheryl (Paul) Harcleroad of York, sister in law, Gerri Lyness of York, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

James was born January 17, 1952 in Warsaw, NY the son of Richard and Anna Irene Fitzsimmons Lyness. He worked for Donnan Farms in York, the Village of Leicester and also the Highlands in Geneseo.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo where Funeral Services will be held at 7 PM with Pastor Bill Tabor officiating. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 1 PM in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York.
