Obituary of Ida Mae Chandler

Ida M. Chandler passed away peacefully in her Henrietta home on Thursday, September 19th at age 82 years. She was the daughter of John and Mary Miller and daughter-in-law of Porter and Gabrielle Chandler. Ida was predeceased by her husband Joseph, beloved sons Gregory and James, and sister Mary Tucker. She is survived by her son, Timothy (Mollie) Chandler, daughter Martha Lockhart, and daughter-in-law, Cynthia Chandler, 6 Grandchildren: Sarah (Jay) Sullivan III, Zachary Lockhart, Timothy "Ted" Chandler, Peter, James and Gregory Chandler. 2 Great-Grandchildren: James IV "Jake" and Will Sullivan. Ida modeled briefly in NYC before starting a family in Geneseo. She volunteered at the Red Cross and was, at one time, an active patron of the arts and the Geneseo Community Players. Ida loved her horses and was a devoted member of the Genesee Valley Hunt. She thoroughly enjoyed fashion and pursued an award winning retail career later in life. The family would like to thank the Lifetime Care Hospice Staff for the wonderful care provided to Ida. No prior calling hours. Memorial Services will be held Saturday at 11 AM at St. Michael's Church, 23 Main St. in Geneseo. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Geneseo. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Ida's memory to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 304, Chicago, IL 60611.
