Obituary of Charles J. Layton

Charles J. Layton, age 67, of Walworth, formerly of Geneseo and Groveland, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Josephine Layton and his sister, Betty Jane Layton. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Clapp Layton, sons, Jonathan (Bridget Hall) Layton of Webster, Matthew (Lisa) Layton of Penfield, grandsons, Connor and Evan Layton, Aiden Hall, sisters, Dianna (Philip) Weimer of Wellsville, Gloria (Joseph Finocchario) Love of Livonia, many nieces and nephews. Charles was born January 11, 1952 in Rochester, NY the son of Charles O. and Josephine Brown Layton. He was a graduate of Geneseo High School Class of 1970. Charlie and Lynn owned and operated the Groveland Bread and Butter Shoppe in Groveland Station for 12 years. He worked at Lake Shore Country Club in Greece as a Mechanic before retiring and moving to Florida. No prior calling hours. His Memorial Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Union Cemetery in Scottsburg.
