Obituary of William G. Conklin

William G. Conklin of Rochester passed away peacefully on May 4, 2019 at Hospice Care, Strong Memorial Hospital at the age of 70. He was the son of George and Eleanor Conklin. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia G. Churchfield.

Bill is survived by his sons, Kenneth William Conklin and family, William George Conklin Jr., grandchildren, brothers, Robert S. (Susan K. Porter) Conklin, Paul H. (Donna L. Kennison) Conklin,  aunts, uncles and cousins.

Bill was a graduate of York Central School. He will be remembered for his love of family, friends and Corn Hill neighbors. His hobbies included the outdoors and hunting. Each weekday Bill, wearing his orange vest and hat, greeted neighbors and pets as he walked the streets of Corn Hill and downtown Rochester.  Bill enjoyed rock and roll hits of the 50’s and 60’s. He retired from Applied Energy Solutions in Caledonia after 30+ years. Bill was a member of Calvary St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church and later joined Third Presbyterian Church in Rochester. 

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home where Funeral Services will follow visitation at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers those wishing may contribute to a charity of their choice in Bill’s name.
