Obituary of Josephine M. Redden

Josephine M. "Jo" Redden, age 97, of Morgan Estates in Geneseo, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris. Jo and her late husband, Dr. Robert Redden, were longtime residents of Westview Crescent in Geneseo. Jo was predeceased by her husband in 2012 and her stepson Ronald Redden.

She is survived by her stepson Russell (Mary Ellen) Redden of Batavia, step granddaughter, Regina Redden, step grandson, Robert Redden, special cousin, Virginia Mistretta VanWinkle, nieces and nephews, Rita (Richard) Coffman, Michelle (Paul) Eli, Richard (Kate) Sisson, Kathy Mistretta Hadsell, Gary Mistretta, Terry Mistretta, Lisa (Mike) Flickner, several great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Josephine was born March 29, 1922 in Mt. Morris, NY the daughter of Phillip and Lena Fiorello Mistretta. She was a graduate of Mt. Morris High School and the Rochester Business Institute where she received her Degree in Clerical Medicine. She was employed in Geneseo for many years at the office of Dr. Gerald Manley. Jo loved to travel, having seen much of the United States. She was also able to visit family in Sicily. Jo loved to entertain, whether it be her bridge group or faculty members from SUNY Geneseo.

No prior calling hours. Her Memorial Mass will be held 11 am on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at St. Mary's Church, 4 Avon Rd. in Geneseo. Private interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Perry.
