Obituary of Luana D. Cottone

Luana D. Cottone, age 85, of Leicester, died peacefully Monday, April 1, 2019 at her residence. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony "Hook" Cottone, daughter, Toni Ann Moore and brother, William Mistretta. She is survived by her children, Terri (Michael) Parsons of Leicester, Samuel (Cindy) Cottone of Geneseo, Joseph and Tina Cottone, son in law, Gary Moore all of Leicester, 8 grandchildren, Mari Beth (Scott) Merriman, Ann Marie Jones, Matthew (Natalie) Cottone, Katie (Shane) Sutton, Sarah (Matt) Durbin, Michael (John Ingle) Parsons, Dylan (Emily) Shaw, Kaylin Cottone, 7 great grandchildren, Brendan Merriman, Spencer Jones, Brynn Cottone, Isabelle and Samuel Sutton, Jack and Anna Durbin, several nieces and nephews including, Brent (Kathy Jo) Mistretta, William (Marsha) Mistretta and many dear friends. Luana was born January 23, 1934 in Leicester, NY the daughter of Joseph and Shirley Sattora Mistretta. She and Anthony "Hook" were married on November 24, 1951 for 59 years until his passing on March 30, 2011. Luana was a Teacher's Aide for 28 years at the Genesee Valley BOCES in Mt. Morris. She was a loving mother, Nonnie, great Nonnie as well as a wonderful aunt and friend to many. She was a superb cook, baker and loved spending time with friends and especially her family. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 3-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Funeral Services and Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Leicester Cemetery.
