I remember 'Charlie' from when I was an IC 'bunker' in the IFD's Central Station on E. Seneca St. He was one of the youngest firefighters and helpful to those of us who were learning the trade.
God bless such a nice gentleman.

Condolences to he Tuckerman family. In the 80s, Cheryl babysat my son, Michael, and I’d occasionally see Charles when he stopped home. Such a nice man.
Peace.

I have known Tuck” for almost a half century.
Chief Tuckerman was the 1st IFD Member I met when I was an 18yo Student Bunkerfresh our of high school
& a freshman at Ithaca College in August 1970.
Chief Tuckerman was the person who called me up and offered employment to me as a career firefighter for Ithaca, my dream job, in late December 1974. I started my dream job January 1975 and left as an Assistant Chief in February, 2016. He was my shift commander when he retired. Thank you, for what you taught me, Tuck.
In addition he role modeled service to his community & country, rising to Sergeant Major in our local Army Reserve Unit. He was also a good spouse and father.
Charlie Tuckerman was a Good Man.
