Obituary of Barbara W. Balding
Barbara W. Balding, age 91, of Morgan Estates in Geneseo, died Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter R. Balding Jr. in 1986.
She is survived by her three daughters, Julia Wood of Farmington, Susan Balding of Newark, Hilarie Lambert of Charleston, SC, grandchildren, Samantha (Morgan) Hughes-Bouvant of Parris, France, Casey (Jules) Hughes of Tampa, FL, Jeffery (Hadeel) Wood of Seattle, WA, great grandchildren, JoJo Hughes, Stella and Owen Bouvant.
Barbara was born September 4, 1926 in Springfield, IL the daughter of Samuel and Jean Virtue Warren. She was the Office Manager for Balding Products in Geneseo. Barbara was a member of the Geneseo Garden Club, Wadsworth Hose Club and the Mayflower Society of Plymouth, MA. She was also a former member of St. Michael's Church in Geneseo. Barbara was a volunteer at the Teresa House in Geneseo for many years. She was a published author of three short stories and an avid reader which she passed down to all her family members. Barbara loved to travel and was known as a vibrant, witty and well-loved lady.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 5-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. A Celebration of Barbara's Life will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11 AM at the Big Tree Inn, 46 Main St. in Geneseo. Interment will be in Temple Hill Cemetery in Geneseo.
