Obituary of Phyllis J. Lyness

Phyllis J. Lyness, age 83, of Canandaigua, formerly of Penn Yan and York, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at her residence.

She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy and her husband Hermon, brother, Richard and his wife Irene and nephew, Richard Lyness.

She is survived by her sister, Anna Wells of Canandaigua, nieces, Priscilla (Clyde) Yerkes of Ft. Myers, FL, Ruth Ann (David) Pike of West Sparta, Cheryl (Paul) Harcleroad of York, Geraldine Lyness of York, nephews, Gary Ewell of Batavia, Gordon (Missy) Ewell of Middlebury, NY and James (Renee) Lyness of York.

Phyllis was born April 7, 1934 in Rochester, NY the daughter of William and Ada Johnson Lyness. She was a graduate of York Central School and SUNY Geneseo. Phyllis taught 3rd grade for the Penn Yan Elementary School for over 30 years.

No prior calling hours. Memorial Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charity of one's choice.
