Obituary of John J. O'Mealia Jr.
John J. O'Mealia, Jr., age 88, of Groveland, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris, NY.
He was predeceased by his wife, Doris Ann O'Mealia, daughter, Deborah O'Mealia, brothers, Gerald, Donald and Patrick O'Mealia.
He is survived by his daughters, Connie (Bob) Lynch of Geneseo, Kayte (Terry) Jones of Wheatland, WY, Lori (Kenneth) Underwood of Groveland, grandchildren, Gee O'Mealia, Amanda Lynch, Brianna (Oscar) Rich, Kenny Underwood, Conor Jones, Alyssa Lynch, Fiona Jones, great granddaughter, Kahlea Strauss, sister in law, Shirley O'Mealia of Rochester, many nieces and nephews.
John was born March 12, 1929 in Rochester, NY the son of the John J. and Rose VanOrden O'Mealia Sr. John was a self-employed contractor in the Rochester area for many years. After his retirement he enjoyed working on and repairing large machinery.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 11 AM - 1 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo where Funeral Services will follow visitation at 1 PM. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Groveland.
