Obituary of Bernard J. NiCastro

Bernard J. "Benny" NiCastro, Sr., age 92, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris, NY. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth and son, John NiCastro. He is survived by his children, Bernard (Mary) NiCastro Jr. of Mt. Morris, Christine (John) Burns of Dansville, daughter-in-law, Linda NiCastro of Silver Springs, NY, grandchildren, Lynnette (Bill), Michelle (Tom), Jamie (Bo), John (Jenna) Jr, Kelly (Eric), Katie, Kristen and several great grandchildren. Bernard was born June 14, 1924 in Mt. Morris, NY the son of Fred and Mary Rizzo NiCastro. He retired from International Salt Mine in Retsof. Benny was an avid gardener having had a greenhouse on his property on Erie St. in Mt. Morris. He enjoyed his morning coffee at many area restaurants. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo where Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 10 AM with Mabel Treadwell officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo. Memorials may be made to the Livingston County C.N.R. (Activity Fund), 11 Murray Hill Dr., Mt. Morris, NY 14454.
