Obituary of Margaret E. Collins

Margaret E. “Peggy” Gray Collins died on July 26, 2016 in Haynes City, Florida at the age of 83. She was predeceased by her husband Myron “Mike” Collins, her siblings, Alfred, William and Hugh Gray, and Martha Gray Commiskey. She is survived by her daughters, Debra (Jim) Russell of TN and Christine (Dave) Costa of FL, grandchildren, Steven (Jessica) Coyne, Samantha Russell, Renee (Paul) Palmer and Melissa Colombo, 7 great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews, many of whom reside in and around the Geneseo area. Peggy was born November 26, 1932 in Geneseo the daughter of Cecil and Mary Gray. She was a 1952 graduate of the Rochester School of Nursing. Peggy was employed at the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility on Lakeville Rd. in Geneseo as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 30 years before retiring in the mid 1990’s to Ft. Myers, FL. Peggy and Mike were longtime residents of Avon. They were avid motorcyclists and members of the Gold Wing Road Riders as well as the Rochester Peace Makers through which they supported many local charities. No prior calling hours. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 11 AM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St in Geneseo with Pastor Mike Smith of Christ Community Church in Geneseo officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneseo. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted in her name at the Teresa House, 21 Highland Rd, Geneseo, NY 14454 or the Harry Chapin Food Bank, 3760 Fowler St, Ft Myers, FL 33901.
