Obituary of John M. Farmer

John M. Farmer, age 58, of Center St. in Geneseo, went home to be with the Lord Friday, March 18, 2016 peacefully at his residence. He was predeceased by his father, John E. Farmer, grandparents, Kenneth and Naomi Farmer, Melvin and Gladys Rathbun, uncle, Kenneth Rathbun. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Gilbert Farmer, mother, Alena Farmer of Geneseo, sisters, Debra Farmer of Rochester, Cynthia Mantegna of Myrtle Beach, SC, sister in law, Renee Gilbert of Geneseo, many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. John was born February 26, 1958 in Rochester, NY the son of John E. and Alena Rathbun Farmer. He earned his Associates Degree from the Olean Business Institute in Olean, NY. John was previously employed at the Ames Department Store in Geneseo and then employed by the Village of Geneseo as the Parking Enforcer and Dog Control. He was a member of the Grace in Truth Church in Geneseo. No prior calling hours. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11 AM at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 4232 Reservoir Rd. in Geneseo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Livingston County Hospice Fund, 2 Murray Hill Dr., Mt. Morris, NY 14510 or the Wilmot Cancer Center, 601 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY 14642.
