Obituary of Dr. William J. Graham

Dr. William Joseph "Joe" Graham, age 83, of Barber Rd. in Dansville, died Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY. He was predeceased by his brother, Davis "Jack" Graham. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Margaret, his son, James (Kirsten) Lungu of CO, two nieces, Sally and Melanie, nephew, Dirk all of WA, sister in law, Janice Graham of WA. William was born January 6, 1932 in Cle Elum, WA the son of William and Violet Crain Graham. He grew up in Tacoma, WA and Graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA. Joe was a US Army Veteran during the Korean War. He then earned a PhD in Biology from the University of Michigan. Joe loved teaching and touched many lives, first at the City College of New York, then SUNY Geneseo, and finally at Monroe Community College, where he served as the Department Chair. Joe retired in 1999 and continued to pursue his passions for farming, the environment and life. He will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and good man. No prior calling hours. Memorial Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be next to his brother in the family plot in Roslyn, WA. Memorials may be made to the Teresa House, 21 Highland Rd., Geneseo, NY 14454.
