My brother, another Harold Frediani, sent me the link to this memorial. As you can see my maiden name is Frediani. I am curious as to whether somewhere there is a family connection so I am posting here thinking someone in your Hilda's family may followup and contact me. Of course I extend my belated condolences.

My daughter, Joanna and I were deeply saddened to see Hilda's name listed in the Memoriam section of the University of Rochester School of Nursing magazine. Hilda and I worked at Strong Memorial Hospital back in 1954 and became close friends, roommates, and when Joanna was born, my husband, John and I asked her to be Joanna's godmother. Through the years, our friendship continued, despite our family moving from the Rochester area to Massachusetts and then to Georgia. She was a caring, loyal friend who will never be forgotten. I always admired her for her strength of character and determination to overcome difficulties. We had many happy times together. She is now at peace and happily reunited with her family and with our Lord. God bless you, Hilda!

Aunt Fredi, as she was affectionately known to me, was my Godmother. She and my mother, Nancy Erbland, were both nurses and worked at Strong Memorial Hospital at the same time. As a grade schooler, I remember Aunt Fredi taking my brother and me for a fast ride in her convertible with the top down. She always looked beautiful to me and was unlike any adult woman I knew. Single, confident, smart, beautiful, and caring. As a nurse, she cared for patients that suffered much stigma...AIDS patients in a prison. I admired her deeply for her choice to provide health care to "the least of these".
I also remember our family having a wonderful Italian dinner at her parents home. Aunt Fredi took me to her barn and showed me her horses and her barn kitties. That was the first time I'd seen cats with extra toes, and probably fueled my present love of all things cat. I also remember being in awe of the surrey racing pictures on the walls of her home.
God Bless you Aunt Fredi. Thank you for your love and prayers and for giving me another strong nursing role model to light my path.
Love you.

I'm terribly saddened to hear this news of Hilda. She took me 'under her wing' and introduced me to the art of Carriage(Harness) showing with her beautiful Standard Bred horses. My love for horses was matched by my respect for this woman! You will be missed Hilda Frediani. Rest in Peace.
