Obituary of Virginia A. Plane

Virginia Ann Plane, 84, died Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home in Jerseyville, Illinois. Virginia had previously resided in Geneseo and Rochester, NY. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Plane, parents, Joseph and Rose Olverd, sister, Rose Olverd, brothers, Michael, Russell, Joseph and Louis Olverd. She is survived by her companion of 45 years, Jack McLaughlin of Rochester, son, Leslie Stratford of Sarasota, FL, daughter, Kathy (Randy) Landess of Jerseyville, IL, grandchildren, Chris, Jenna (Nick DiLorenzo) and Leah Stratford, 4 great grandchildren, sister, Frances Radesi of Rochester, brother, Phillip Olverd of Batavia, many nieces and nephews. She was born September 12, 1927 in Mt. Morris, NY the daughter of Joseph and Rose Gambino Olverd. Virginia worked as a hairdresser and later served the Village of Geneseo as both Court Clerk and Meter Maid until her retirement in 1975. She loved music, dancing and sewing. Friends may call Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 11 AM - 1 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Graveside Services will follow visitation at 1:30 PM at St. Mary's Cemetery, Crossett Rd. in Geneseo with Father Bernard Dan officiating. Memorials may be made to the Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home, 1251 North State St., Jerseyville, IL,. 62052, to be used to provide music activities which she loved so much.
