Obituary of Dayton W. Johnson

Dayton W. Johnson, 77, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris. Mr. Johnson lived in Leicester before entering the nursing home. He was predeceased by his wife Sally Johnson in 2011, and his 2 brothers. He is survived by his children, Dennis (Lana) Johnson of Conesus, Susan (Dale) Harper of North Rose, Dawn (Bud) McHurgue of IN, Russell Johnson of Medina, Tom Johnson of WI, 6 step children, grandchildren, Amanda, Emily, Samantha, Skyler, Elijah, Jesse, sister Marguerite Rosetana of Rochester, several step grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was born September 30, 1934 in Brighton, NY the son of Norman and Mildred McConell Johnson. Dayton was a US Army Veteran. He retired in 1995 from the SUNY Geneseo maintenance department. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home on Saturday May 26, 2012 from 2-4 PM where Funeral Services will follow at 4 PM. Interment will be in the Leicester Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the York-Leicester VFW Post 634, PO Box 101, York, NY 14592.
