Obituary of Cyril V. Page

Cyril V. Page, 91 years of Geneseo, died peacefully at home, with his loving children at his side on Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Cyril was predeceased by his beloved wife of nearly 63 years, Helen in 2008. He was born in London England July 18, 1919, emigrated to Canada and the United States at a young age. Cyril is survived by his children, Susan (Michael) McCue of Geneseo and Roland (Linda) Page of Red Hook and Geneseo, four grandchildren, William, Tanya, Charles (Desi) and Annie, two great grandchildren, Cody and Connor, a special sister Elva Crawford of Warsaw, two brothers, Sidney and Frank Radau of Bowden Alberta Canada, several nieces, nephews and many loving friends. Cyril lived by the Golden Rule; in addition to his family and friends he enjoyed being a master craftsman with wood, travelling, gardening, fishing and hunting. Cyril retired as a foreman from the New York State Department of Transportation in 1981 after 28 years of service. Prior to that he also worked at Robeson Cutlery in Perry and ran a small family farm in Warsaw. Cyril enjoyed a cup of coffee along with hearing or telling a good story in the company of family and friends. Friends and family will be received at the Rector Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Saturday, July 16, 2011 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00PM where Funeral Services will follow visitation at 2:00 PM with the Reverend Canon Albert Keeney of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Geneseo officiating. Burial will follow in Union Park Cemetery in Wethersfield Springs. Cyril's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Wyoming County Community Hospital, the Rehab Unit, and the Skilled Nursing Facility for the care he received while a patient. They would also like to thank the dedicated staff of Livingston County Visiting Nurse, and Livingston County Hospice for the brief but most important care they provided.
