Obituary of Donald P. Myers

Donald P. Myers, age 60, of Harper Parkway in Avon, passed away June 1, 2011 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was born February 8, 1951 in Wayland, NY the son of the late Edmund W. and Jean Vanderpoest Myers. He was married to Esther Struble Myers. He was formerly employed as a cook at the Perkins Restaurant in Geneseo. Don was a former member of the Lakeville Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time in the outdoors. Don enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren who meant the world to him. He is survived by his wife, Esther of Avon; children Lowell Myers, Sr. of Avon, and Rebecca Myers of Avon; sister Donna (Shad) Whalburn of South Carolina; grandchildren Amber Myers and Lowell Myers Jr.; mother-in-law Mary Struble of Mt. Morris; sister-in-law & brother-in-law Sharon and Jim Andrews of Avon and Sandra and Art Lilley of Dansville; brother-in-law & sister-in-law Richard & Yvonne Struble of Springwater; several nieces and nephews. There will be no prior calling hours. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2011 at 11AM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main Street in Geneseo with Rev. James Stevens officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery in Scottsburg, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Lilac Activity Fund, 11 Murray Hill Drive, Mt. Morris, NY 14510.
