Anna Parzyk

Obituary of Anna G. Parzyk

Anna has joined her beloved husband, Emil, in their eternal rest. She was the eldest of six children of the late Francesco and Grazia Guida. Anna was born in Palo Del Colle, Italy, and came to this country in 1921, with her baby brother and her mother, aboard the ship, The Taormina, and passed through Ellis Island upon entering this country. Anna went to work at the age of 14 as a seamstress, after finishing the 6th grade. She became a citizen of the US in 1946, and was a retired ILGWU member. She helped the family financially, and cared for her brothers and sisters. Anna was predeceased by her husband, Emil, her brothers Matthew, Michael, and Victor Guida, and her sisters Isabel Fossa, and Virginia Fosso. Anna is survived by her 14 nephews and nieces, 19 great nephews, and nieces and 15 great grand nephews and nieces. Most of all she loved her family, and was very proud of her Italian heritage. She also traveled to Poland and England after her husband, Emil, passed away, just to see his birthplace and meet his family, and the families that cared for him during WWII. Anna lived in Dumont, NJ, for half of her life and then in Atlantic City, for the remainder. Anna was a tiny woman in stature, but she had the heart of a giant. She will be missed by all that loved her.
