William Mulvaney Obituary
William T. Mulvaney, 85, of Rorbach Lane in Geneseo, died Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Kirkhaven Nursing Home in Rochester, NY. Mr. Mulvaney was formerly of Avon.
He is survived by his wife Betty Schmidt Mulvaney, his children, Thomas (Patricia) Mulvaney of FL, J. Timothy (Carol) Mulvaney of West Henrietta, Rose (James) Sicilia of Scotia, NY, Nancy (James) Fusco of Avon, Daniel (Lisa) Mulvaney of Honeoye Falls, Kathleen Rehberg of FL, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, his sister, Jane (Donald) Windsor of Conesus, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, James, Robert, Richard, Bernard and Daniel Mulvaney, his sister Marion Allen, and his great grandson Braydon.
He was born May 19, 1925 in Conesus, NY the son of Edward and Ruth Strong Mulvaney. Bill was a member of St. Luke's Parish where he served as an Acolyte and was a member of St. Mary's Men's Club. He served the Village of Avon as Mayor for 10 years, was a member of the Avon Fire Department and was a member of the Avon Rotary Club where he served as President. Bill was retired from the US Postal Service in Lima.
Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St., in Geneseo on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 from 4-7 PM.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Agnes Church, 108 Prospect St. in Avon. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1650 South Ave., Rochester, NY, 14620-3926.
