Obituary of Frank N. Orlando

Frank N. Orlando, 89, of Lima Rd. in Geneseo, died Friday, May 21, 2010 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris, NY. He is survived by his wife Betty Curcio Orlando, his children, Tina (Sam) Worrell of Clarmont, FL, Frank (Ilene) Orlando of Mt. Morris, and Linda (Bruce) Driver of San Diego, CA, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, his sister Lena Spalla of Albion, his brother, Michael Orlando of Kensington, MD, several nieces and nephews. Frank was born January 11, 1921 in Geneseo, NY the son of Salvatore and Josephine Morello Orlando. He served in the US Marines during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries received in Iwo Jima. He earned his Agronomy Degree at Alfred Tech and was a member of their Advisory Board. Frank was a longtime employee of Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, NY. Frank was also the Greens Superintendent of both Bartlett Country Club and St. Bonaventure Golf Course, both in Olean, NY. He supervised construction of the Holland Hills Country Club in Holland, NY. Frank was a member of VFW Post 5005 in Geneseo, Disabled American Veterans and St. Mary's Church Men's Club in Geneseo. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 from 4-7 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Church in Geneseo with Father Edward Dillon officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo with Full Military Honors. Memorials may be made to the Geneseo Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 428, Geneseo, NY, 14454.
