Obituary of Jerald R. McCracken

Jerald R. McCracken, 78, of Batavia-Stafford Townline Rd. in Batavia, died Friday, October 30, 2009 at the Crossroads House in Batavia. He is survived by his wife Ruth Slane McCracken, children, Daryl McCracken of Batavia, Deborah Kreienberg of Pittsford, Darlene (Edward) Koubek of Houston, TX, Jerry McCracken Jr. of Rochester, 5 granddaughters, Katiann Fisher, Emma, Shelby and Darby Kreienberg, Nicole Stanton, great grandson, Layth Magee, sisters, Valeria (William) Philips of Penn Yan, Linda (William) Lubanski of York, brothers, Ronald (Beverly) McCracken of Bergen, Roy (Marilyn) McCracken of Barefoot Bay, FL, many nieces and nephews. He was born November 23, 1930 in Rochester, NY the son of George and Kathryn Dyke McCracken. Jerry was a graduate of York Central School and attended the State University of New York at Geneseo. He also served in the National Guard and was a member of the Bergen Masonic Lodge. Jerry owned and operated McCracken Insurance Agency in Batavia for many years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed time spent with his family. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St., in Geneseo on Monday from 7-9 PM and on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 11:30 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church of Byron, 6293 West Main St. in Byron with Rev. Neil Frood Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York.
