Obituary of Harold L. Stewart
Harold J. Stewart, 94, of Retsof Ave. in Retsof, died Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.
He is survived by his son, James Stewart of Madison, WI, his daughter, Sister Mary Stewart of Ocean Grove, NJ, grandchildren, Ian Stewart and Sarah (Drew Fleming) Stewart, great grandchildren, Maxine and Charlotte Fleming, all of Madison, WI, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Phillamena "Peg" Stewart in 1981, and Arlene Stewart in 2006.
He was born September 8, 1915 in Geneseo, NY the son of John and Margaret McTarnaghan Stewart. Harold was retired from AKZO Nobel Salt Mine in Retsof. He was a transportation volunteer for the American Red Cross and was a member of the York-Leicester Towners. He was a member of the Covington United Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. on Monday, October 5, 2009 from 4-7 PM.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the Covington United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Laura Fry officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo.
