Violet J. "Peanut" Copeland, 77, of York Road West in York, died Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. She is survived by her husband Joseph Copeland, her children, Steven Copeland of Mt. Morris, Sandra Copeland of York, Dennis (Lynn) Copeland of York, Laurie (William) Peete of York, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was born March 9, 1931 in Leroy, NY the daughter of Craig and Mildred Grant McClurg. Violet was retired from Kraft General Foods in Avon. Violet loved her grandchildren, liked to play cards, especially rummy, and liked to gamble, especially slot machines. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 from 3-7 PM where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Neil Frood of the York United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York. Memorials may be made to the York Ambulance Fund, P.O.
