Obituary of James M. Dwyer

GENESEO: James M. Dwyer, 86, of Groveland Road in Geneseo died peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2008 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY after an extended period of declining health. Mr. Dwyer was born December 31, 1921 in Geneseo the son of the late James M. and Cora Gallagher Dwyer. He retired in 1985 as President of Williamson Law Book Company in Rochester. His public service included terms of office on the Geneseo Village Board and the Geneseo Town Board.He was a senior exempt member of the Geneseo Fire Department and had served as President of the Geneseo Pumper Company. He also served as the first Fire Commissioner for the Department. He was a lifelong member of St. Marys Church in Geneseo. He was predeceased by his son Mark J. Dwyer in 1989. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth "Biddy" Dwyer, son David (Carol Carey) Dwyer of Geneseo, daughter Ann (Mark) ONeil of Malvern, PA, daughter in law Bobbi (Pete) Turner of Livonia, grandchildren Erin (Domenick) Roma, Megan (David) Johnson, Colleen and Molly ONeil, Kate (Ryan) Shand, John and Paul Dwyer, brother Edward Dwyer of Rochester, nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday, July 2, 2008 from 3-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, 4 Avon Rd. in Geneseo with Father Edward Dillon officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo.
