Rochester/Syracuse: Viola A. Grover, 93, a resident of Scottsdale, Arizona, died Sunday, May 11, 2008 at St. John's Home in Rochester, NY. Mrs. Grover had previously resided in Syracuse and Rochester. She is survived by 3 children, Dr. Donald A. (Karen) Grover of Rochester, Karen(Paul) Duffy of Geneseo, Susan(Steve) Platte of Scottsdale, AZ, 3 grandchildren, Kimberly Grover, Jessica Shuman, and Erica(Chris) Grover, her sister, Olga Hornbeck of Topsham, ME, a niece and several nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Donald S. Grover with whom she resided for many years in Syracuse. She was born October 4, 1914 in Binghamton, NY the daughter of Gustav and Hilda Thomson Anderson. She attended numerous prestigious Art Schools. Viola was employed as a legal secretary at Bahn, Schoeneck and King Law Firm in Syracuse, NY. She bred and showed Pyrenees Dogs. She was a member of the Onondaga Hill Garden Club in Syracuse. Her true love was art, having owned a pottery shop and making jewelry. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 10:00 A.M in Valley Cemetery in Syracuse.
