Obituary of Mary M. Miskell
GENESEO Mary Elizabeth Miskell, 89, died peacefully at her home of 51 years on February 2, 2008. She was born July 6, 1918 in Auburn, N.Y. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Trinity College in 1940 and a Bachelor's Degree in Library Science from Syracuse University in 1941. She was a former Commissioner of the Genesee Region of the New York State Parks and was an active member of numerous organizations. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Charles. She is survived by her seven children, Ted (Karen), John (Zahra), Carl, Stephen, Martin (Theresa), all of Geneseo, Mary Ellen (Terry Clar) of Rochester, and Kevin (Lisa) of Livonia; 20 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, A. Howard (Helen) Miskell and sister-in-law, Marian Miskell; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call a the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home Inc. in Geneseo on Friday, February 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 9 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Geneseo. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke's Scholarship Fund, 13 North St., Geneseo, NY 14454; the Wadsworth Library, 24 Center St., Geneseo, NY 14454; or a charity of your choice.
