Obituary of James E. Yeager

James E. Yeager, age 73, of Highland Rd. in Geneseo, died Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley, his sister, Judy Kelly and his brother in law and Nascar buddy, Allan Chichester. He is survived by his wife Barbara Chichester Yeager, his children, James (Amy) Yeager Jr. of Danville, KY, Edward (Kate) Yeager of Pottstown, PA, Leah (Jason) Sowolla of Manassas, VA and Pam (Mike) McGinnis of Walworth, 12 grandchildren, aunt, Mabel Huber of St. Boniface, PA, many nieces and nephews. Jim was born February 22, 1942 in Hastings, PA the son of Edward and Leah Beck Yeager. Jim was retired from Geneseo Central School where he taught history for 42 years, from 1964 until 2006. He was also a football coach at Geneseo. Jim was a longtime member of the Geneseo Fire Department and a Past Fire Chief. He was also a longtime member of the Livingston County Past Chief's Association and acted as their Secretary/Treasurer for many years. Friends may call Thursday, 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo where a Fireman's Service will follow visitation at 7 PM. Funeral Mass Friday, 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, 4 Avon Rd. in Geneseo. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery.
