Obituary of Gary A. Levey

Gary A. Levey, age 61, of Reservoir Rd. in Geneseo, died unexpectedly Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Bernard and Betty Levey and father in law Harold "Jock" Sattora. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Sattora Levey, his daughter, Morgan (Jason) Hellquist of Geneseo, grandchildren, Olivia and Maxwell Hellquist, brothers and sisters, Alice (Roger) McCracken of Fowlerville, Vince (Patsy) Levey of Mt. Morris, Wayne (Barb) Levey of Piffard, Brian (Sandy Welch) Levey of Piffard, Donna (Richard) Truelson of Avon, Larry (Kim) Levey of Geneseo, mother in law, Alice Ann (Gary) Beachel of Geneseo, sisters in law, Judy (Skip) Sims of Caledonia, Sue (Gary) Wadams of Geneseo, brothers in law, Jerry (Ann) Sattora of Conesus Lake, Jim (Kelly) Sattora of Avon, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Gary was full of life and made the most of each moment after overcoming a motorcycle accident leaving him paralyzed for over 41 years. He loved the outdoors and spending time fishing with friends and working in his flower beds. Gary always looked forward to his weekly poker game with life long friends. He cherished his friends, his family, and the laughter of his grandchildren. Gary will be sadly missed by the numerous people that were touched by his life. Friends and family may call Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 4-8 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 11 AM at the Geneseo United Methodist Church, 4520 Genesee St. (Route 63) in Geneseo.
