John, V.J, and all of Vince's loved ones --
Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn your
remarkable dad. Vince was the
last of those great men who saved McQuaid in 1968, when
it was slated to be phased out
and closed in 1972. We are
forever in his debt. He and
Evelyn will always stand out in our memories of wonderful McQuaid parents who enriched our lives.
Peace and God bless,
Bob and Ann Marie Bradley

Vince was one of my mentors and one of my heroes. A true champion of small business. A self made man who became hugely successful through hard work and self sacrifice. He gave his time and treasure to those less fortunate and tried desperately to preserve the American Dream for future generations. He will be sadly missed by the Rochester community.

To the Stanley Family,
Just wanted you to know that I was greatly influenced in my personal and business career from a single lunch I had at the Portico with Mr. Stanley. He was referred to me by Chic Lewis, a business consultant and member of the Red Wings board with him. Chic wanted me to meet with Mr. Stanley so I might adopt the strong business and personal practices always exhibited
by your loved one.
I know he influenced me in a most positive way and I am thankful I met him on that noontime.

Many years ago I had the privledge of working on Mr. Stanley's blue Mercedess Benz for a defroster problem no one could fix. I found the defroster vent filled with old parking lot stubs. We both had a good laugh. After I made the repair Mr. Stanley thanked me for not giving up on the problem. I learned from him to do the job assigned to you and to bring it to fruition with no excuses; a practice I follow to this day. Thank you Mr. Stanley for a life time lesson. Peter F. Haidt (PFH Enterprises)

My prayers and condolences to all of the Stanley family upon his passing. I will truely miss him. Of late he would reassuringly state " I have had a good life"and that he did. Thank you Vinnie, I know I am a better person for having known you. "I thank you and your mother and your father" (another one of his funny sayings).Love and prayers always to you and Evie and Dean

To Mr. Stanley's family, I would like to express my sincere condolences. The contributions that he made in his life on earth are overwhelming! My brother Mike worked for Mr. Stanley for the past 20+ years. While I have only had the opportunity to meet him once while on a business trip to Rochester and visiting Mike at work, I certainly wish that I had the opportunity to know him better. Mike was so proud to speak of Vince and how he recognized the effort of his employee family! Having moved from Pittsburgh after he returned from the Army, Mike found a home in Rochester with his wife and children. I think he also found a home with the Stanley family! You will all be in our thoughts and prayers. Know that our life on earth is but a wink in the eye of eternity and that your will be with Mr. Vincent J. Stanley again in a wink and a smile!
In his grip,
Rob Zaremski

"Sir" I don't know where to even start to thank you for everything that you have taught and done for me. When my Dad passed away I looked up to you for the guidance he would have given me. When Dean passed away you looked at me for help. We made a pretty good team. Please listen to me now when I look up in the morning and give you the figures for the day as you asked for every day and continue to guide me as you did for so many years. I will miss you Sir. Love Your favorite Polock.

I just wanted to say that I am so grateful to have met Mr. and Mrs. Stanley. They are neighbors to my Aunt Mary and Uncle Bob Martin. When visiting my Aunt and Uncle, we always liked to go see the Stanley's. My daughter when younger drew pictures for them, and loved to visit with them, and they enjoyed her as well. The stories that Mr. Stanley told will be dear to me...I am thankful for my special time with two wonderful people. May they both rest in peace as they are joined together in Heaven. I am positive that Mr. Stanley has already reunited with my angel in Heaven....Will be greatly missed.

I knew Mr.Stanley from the Red Wings and the YMCA.It was always a pleasure to talk baseball or news events with him. I had to subpoena an employee for a case I had and he was most cooperative. He was a true gentleman. The world needs more like him.
