Alan W. Fitzsimmons, age 60, of Hornell formerly of Groveland, NY passed away on December 17th, 2024 at home next to his beloved wife. He is predeceased by his parents, Wendell and Marion Fitzsimmons, his grandmother, Olive Fleming and his brother, Jim Calkins.

Alan is survived by his wife Christine, children, Alan(Brooke) Fitzsimmons of Batavia, Emily Fitzsimmons of Batavia, Darren(Brittany) Stanford of Perry and Molly Wilkinson of Hornell. His grandchildren, Paisley Stanford and Aurora Raine Kenyon, grand-dog Oli. Alan is also survived by his canine companion Gabriel and many feline friends.

Alan was born July 25, 1964 in Batavia, NY the bright red headed son of Wendell and Marion (Fleming) Fitzsimmons. Growing up in the town of Le Roy he was often endearingly referred to as the "Jell-O Baby." Alan worked at SUNY Geneseo in Facility Services where he befriended some wonderful people he often spoke fondly about. Anyone who was blessed to know him knew of his avid love for anything KISS, his expansive knowledge of History, random fun facts, and loud music with exceptional DJ skills. Alan's first love was his 1973 Dodge Challenger that he rebuilt with his father. He was a devoted Buffalo Bills fan. Some of Alan's most cherished memories were growing up on the racetrack with his father which led to his love for Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr., Hockey games, dance and cheer events with his kids, singing in bands and every moment spent with his wife, kids and grandkids.

No prior calling hours. A celebration of Alan's life will be held on Saturday, December 28th, 2024 from 2-5pm at the Dark Horse Saloon, 10516 NY-36, Dansville, NY 14437.
