Most beloved Lois Sanford Costello, former resident of Rush/Avon, NY and Melbourne Beach, FL, age 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 in Mt. Morris, NY. Lois was born on May 18, 1933 to Raymond and Lucille Sanford (deceased). She lived a life rich in love, family and service.

She was predeceased by the love of her life, Thomas M. Costello (husband), her siblings, Roy Sanford, Eugene Sanford, Jane Sanford Cook, nephew, Sanford Cook and grandchild, John T. Van Roo.

She leaves a loving legacy in her four children, Kathryn Costello of FL, Kristine (Thomas) Alsheskie of WI, Thomas (Kari) Costello II of VA, Karalynne (Thomas McGinnis) Temperato of Avon, grandchildren, Jennifer Van Roo Rickerby, Jeffrey (Christina) Van Roo, Jason (Jenna) Behrer, Stefan Alsheskie, Emily (Chad) Johnson, Myranda Costello, Devon Costello, Larry Temperato and Melissa Temperato. Most cherished great grandchildren, Corbin, Maggie, Ryan, Jessica, Leo, Mia, Rory, Aaron, Lucas, Parker and Laura, sisters in law, Jacqueline Robinson of Geneseo, Susanne (Rick) Parsons of CT, many nieces and nephews.

Lois was a dedicated to her community as a Social Worker, touching the lives of countless people in Livingston County. She also supported the local Republican and electoral committees. She earned her teaching degree from SUNY Geneseo. She was an avid Quilter and loved to read mystery books.

Her radiant smile and captivating laughter will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In respect to her wishes, there will be no calling hours. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 2 PM in West View Cemetery in Ossian, NY.
