Obituary of Daniel E. Hainey

Daniel E. Hainey, age 73, of Geneseo, died Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Elizabeth Hainey, brother, Matthew Hainey and brother in law, Skip Luthart.

He is survived by his children, Jake (Allie) Hainey of Reno, NV, Amber Hainey of Geneseo, Lynn Giglio of Rochester, grandchildren, McKenna, Emma and Marisa, siblings, Timothy (Georgette) Hainey of Wellsville, Mark (Donna Schneble) Hainey of Dansville, Peter (Tammy) Hainey of Mt. Morris, Ellen (Ron) Spink of Geneseo, Kelly Luthart of Cuylerville, Laurie (Kelly) Kennedy of Groveland, many nieces, nephews and special friend, Mary Roodenburg of Geneseo.

Dan was born April 30, 1951 in Cortland, NY the son of Edward and Elizabeth Jane O'Connor Hainey. He was a member of the Geneseo High School class of 1969 where he was a standout athlete in football, basketball and baseball. Danny was well known in the Geneseo Community, especially on Main Street where he could be found visiting with friends on the village benches.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo with a Celebration of Life to follow at Kelly's Saloon, 71 Main St. in Geneseo.
