Gail E. Laursen Obituary

Gail Elizabeth Laursen, 73, of York passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in her home Sunday, May 5th, 2024. She was predeceased by her parents Carl and Jeanette Mandeville.


She is survived by her husband, Keith Laursen, sons Kevin (Sandy Jester) Laursen of York, Christopher (Shannon) Laursen of Caledonia, grandchildren Jessica (JW) Cook of Pittsford, Samantha (Ryan) Bulter of Caledonia and Joseph Laursen of Caledonia, brother Terry (Shirley) Mandeville of Leicester, sister Gay Mandeville of York, nieces and nephews, Scott (Marissa Lena O'Connor) Mandeville of Amesbury, MA, Elizabeth (Danny) Lyness who is also her Goddaughter of York, Carolyn (Colin) Tidd of Lake Placid, Holly Bigelow of York, Dave Mandeville of Henrietta and Mercedes MacGonegal of Rochester, great nieces and nephews, Anna Lyness, Carl Szczech, Adam Szczech, Daniel Lyness, Laura Szczech, Maggie Szczech, Connor Mandeville, Jonathan "Jack" Mandeville and Isla Tidd, along with several other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and treasured friends.


Gail was born November 11, 1950 in Warsaw, NY, the first born of Carl Glenn and Jeanette Helena Krueger Mandeville. She was a graduate of York Central School in 1968 and immediately began working at the G&W railroad where she made her career holding several different positions during her 44 years there until her retirement in 2012.


Calling hours will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main Street in Geneseo. Graveside Services will be held Friday, May 10, 2024 at 11AM at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York, with a luncheon following at A-ON-DO-WA-NUH Sportsman's Club 4716 River Road in Cuylerville.
