William G. Sweet, age 92, of Geneseo formerly of York, died Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was predeceased by his sisters, Jean Sweet, and Mary Discavage.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn McKee Sweet, children, Karen (David) Mann of Groveland Station, Donna Sweet of Geneseo, David Sweet of Gates, William (Sherry) Sweet Jr. of Scottsville, 7 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, sister, Virginia Tetkowski of Philadelphia, many nieces and nephews.

William was born May 7, 1931 in Waterloo, NY the son of Carlton and Dorothy Twist Sweet. He was an Engineer in the Maintence Department at the Rochester Psych Center for many years. Bill and Marilyn enjoyed many years of camping with family and friends. After their retirements, Bill and Marilyn especially enjoyed traveling to Arizona and Florida in their Motorhome.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. His Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, 4 Avon Rd. in Geneseo with Father Sylvester Bioh officiating. Burial will follow at 1 PM at White Haven Memorial Park in Pittsford.
