Obituary of Mildred I. Chichester

Mildred I. "Millie" Chichester, age 98, of Piffard, died Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Elwood "Jake" Chichester in 1992, sons, Gene (Esther) and Roland Chichester, granddaughters, Laura Chichester and Rosie Schaub, great grandchildren, Kooper Barnhart and Vennessa Thompson, sister, Edith (Joseph) Vogel.

She is survived by her children, Maxine (Tom) Flint of Fowlerville, Carl (Helen) Chichester of Cuylerville, Sharon (Steve) Barnhart of Piffard, daughter in law, Kathleen Chichester of Huntersville, NC, 10 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, brother in law, Larry (Dixie) Chichester of Piffard, many nieces and nephews, caregivers, Denise and Jennifer.

Millie was born October 17, 1925 in Fowlerville, NY the daughter of Ira and Gertrude McCracken Slocum. Millie was employed at Allen Bailey Tag and Label in Caledonia for 33 years. She was well known as a cook at The Barn Restaurant in Greigsville. Millie was an avid bowler and enjoyed her many camping trips. She was a member of the Mt. Morris VFW Post 547 Ladies Auxiliary where she was a regular for bingo night.

Friends may call Wednesday, 4-7 pm at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Funeral Services will be held privately. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, York, NY.
