Obituary of Linda L. Rainer

Linda L. Rainer, age 72, of Piffard, died Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen Rainer and sister, Rachel Aten.

She is survived by her daughters, Janel (Jeff) Ciccarino of Vestal, NY, Stephanie (Rob) Barrett of Caledonia, grandchildren, Morgan and Emily Ciccarino, Rachel "Phoenix" and Jovee Barrett, brother, Ron (Sue) Kiefer of Livonia and a large extended family.

Linda was born July 8, 1951 in Rochester, NY the daughter of George and Alice Wing Kiefer. She was a graduate of Livonia Central School class of 1969. Linda retired as a kitchen manager from the Leicester Genesee Valley BOCES. Linda was a longtime volunteer and coach for the Genesee Region Special Olympics. In 2023 she was honored as the New York State Special Olympics Coach of the Year. Linda was an avid golfer and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. She was a dedicated mom and grandma and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo where her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 11 AM with Pastor Susan Smith officiating. Private interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in South Livonia.
